A sculpture donated by China Media Group (CMG) to the French National and Olympic Sports Committee is ready to depart from Shanghai to Paris.

The two sides held a ceremony in Shanghai on Saturday to mark the uplifting occasion.
"We want the statue to be seen and to be really in a place where it will be seen. We have a smaller one that has been offered by the CMG two weeks ago in Paris, and it's now at the entrance at the headquarters of the French National and Olympic [Sports] Committee. So all the Olympic movement can see this one. But this bigger one will be in a public park in Paris," said David Lappartient, President of French National and Olympic Sports Committee.
The sculpture "Tong Zhou Gong Du" (literally "ferrying in the same boat") is echoing the theme of Olympics.
Created by Huang Jian, the IOC's Olympic art ambassador and renowned sculptor, this sculpture symbolizes the vibrant friendship between China and France and the spirit of the Olympics.
It signifies that both countries will seize the opportunity of the Paris Olympics to work together in promoting exchanges and dialogue among different civilizations, and to convey the message of peace through the Paris Olympics.
The Olympic statue will be transported on the China-Europe Railway Express and exhibited in Paris after its arrival.
