The 2026 China International Consumer Electronics Exposition was held in Qingdao from September 4 to 6. Under the theme “AI Leads the Way, Intelligence Lights up the Future”, the expo was sponsored by the Shandong Provincial Government, and jointly undertaken by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, the Chinese Institute of Electronics and the Qingdao Municipal Government.

Over the years, Qingdao has emerged as an important industrial base for consumer electronics in China, and seen emerging industries such as new-generation information technology, and artificial intelligence grow by leaps and bounds, thereby becoming a well sought-after destination for international cooperation on consumer electronics.

With an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, this year’s event consisted of six exhibition areas, incorporated emerging industries and industries of the future such as intelligent health and elderly care services, AI-based large models and smart computing for the first time into the exhibition system. A series of activities, including industrial exchanges, economic and trade matchmaking events and results presentation, were held during the expo. Around 300 enterprises from home and abroad were invited to attend the event. All these efforts are aimed at growing the event into an industrial cooperation platform characterized by coordination across the full chain and multi-dimensional empowerment.  (Xue Huafei)
