The international freight business of Qingdao Airport is continuing to make progress this year. According to the latest statistics, from January to October this year, Qingdao Airport saw a total cargo throughput of 210,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14%. Among the figure, the international cargo represented 104,000 tons, up 26% over the same period last year. In terms of types of cargo, the cargo volume for international express delivery and cross-border e-commerce reached 28,400 tons, a year-on-year surge of 165.5%.
Qingdao Airport has by far operated 18 freight lines. 11 of them are international freight lines that span Europe, America, Asia and Australia and get Qingdao connected with Japan, South Korea, Europe and America, the SCO member states and countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, to further facilitate international logistics and trade ties.
