The China Media Group (CMG) launched a film culture carnival in north China's Tianjin Municipality on Friday, opening two fairs as the side event.

The two fairs are held at Tianjin's Binhai Cultural Center and the Jinwan Plaza.

The market at the Binhai Cultural Center is bustling, showing a rich array of content covering film industry technology, ocean-themed intangible cultural heritage, parent-child interactive entertainment, and cutting-edge innovative achievements in the film industry. At the intangible cultural heritage exhibition area, visitors can get an up-close experience of intangible cultural heritage items with distinct Tianjin characteristics and the profound marine cultural heritage of Binhai City.

The fair at the Jinwan Plaza attracted over 80,000 visitors on the opening day. A dedicated exhibition zone for ceramic intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship offers visitors full immersive experiences, where they can both paint porcelain pieces and hand-sculpt raw clay. The bamboo weaving from southwest China's Sichuan Province has drawn large crowds of tourists, who learn the craft on-site from inheritors and take their self-made heritage souvenirs home.

"It is such a pleasure that we can access intangible cultural heritage from all across China and get hands-on experience in creating small traditional crafts right here in Tianjin," said Lang Shuang, a visitor.

The fairs will run through Aug 20.
