According to the 2022 China Digital Government Development Index Report recently released by Tsinghua University, Qingdao ranks fourth among 333 Chinese municipal governments in terms of scoring and is among the 16 first-tier leading cities, the first three places of which are occupied by Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Guangzhou respectively.

Comprehensive development in digital government has been assessed in the report from the four dimensions including organizational framework, institutional system, governance capacity and governance efficacy in line with the top five construction systems and the top five target features for the campaign of digital government. Qingdao has done well in all the four dimensions.

Over the recent years, with the development principle based on integrations, digital engine and applications, Qingdao has seen accelerated digital transformation, the enhancing strength in urban digital services, digital governance, digital innovation and digital competitiveness and the improving capacity and efficacy of digital governance.  (Ren Xiaomeng)
