The Qingdao International Display Conference (2023) and the 5th Global Display Industry Trend Release was held in the West Coast New Area on June 20. With the theme of “Display for World, Innovation for Future”, the conference gathered more than 500 experts and entrepreneurs from the circles of industry, education, research, application and capital to discuss development trends in the display industry under new circumstances and opportunities.
In the opening ceremony, the Qingdao Electro-optic Display Industry Alliance comprised of such industry-leading companies as Hisense and BOE, was established, which is intended to pool industrial resources and strengths inside itself and at home and abroad, facilitate exchanges and cooperation across the new-type display industry chain, create a better industrial environment for industrial technological innovation, explore a new mechanism to foster a synergy among resources of all kinds and help Qingdao’s display industry make rapid progress in technology. A hiring ceremony for consultants for Qingdao’s new-type display industry was also held in the conference.
In the release conference, experts from China, Japan, South Korea, etc. studied the development trends in the display industry, and seven reports of display industry trends were unveiled on AMOLED technology, development in the new-type display materials industry, and display technology and industrial trends in the future. A closed-door symposium was also held on the futuristic AI+ core screen industry, in which 20 experts, scholars or industry insiders shared their experience and exchanged their opinions on development trends in AI and leading-edge technologies as well as commercial applications.
The West Coast New Area, which strives to build itself into a high ground for the semiconductor and electro-optic industry in North China, is home to 39 chip display enterprises above the designated scale, generating RMB46.9bln in output value in 2022, and takes the priority to push ahead with more than 60 projects with a total investment of approximately RMB150bln.
