Qingdao-based Haier Group has been named one of China's Best Employers of 2026 by Forbes China for its approach to employee development, workplace innovation, and AI integration.
Announced on Oct 20, the results followed a four-month evaluation process that included surveys and anonymous assessments by employees of participating companies.
Now in its sixth year, the Forbes China Best Employers selection highlighted how businesses are adapting to AI-driven workplace changes while meeting employee expectations for career development, fair compensation, and work-life balance.
Haier has launched a company-wide AI training initiative that enables employees to develop applications tailored to their daily work.
According to the company, frontline employees have created nearly 1,000 AI assistants for manufacturing operations. At its air conditioner factory in Zhengzhou, Henan province, an employee-developed AI application for managing screw torque saves workers approximately 30 minutes a day.
Beyond AI adoption, Haier offers career development pathways in both management and specialist roles, supported by training programs and performance-based incentives.
Zhou Yunjie, chairman and CEO of Haier Group, said the company's approach is to use technology to empower employees rather than replace them, allowing AI to take over repetitive tasks while people focus on more creative work.
