Qingdao, Shandong province, hosted a conference on Oct 22 to strengthen cooperation among China-based Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) platforms, focusing on trade, industrial development, technological innovation, and talent exchanges.
Held at the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA), the event brought together representatives from SCO-related cooperation platforms across China to explore ways to strengthen coordination and expand economic ties.
Participants jointly released an action plan identifying key areas for cooperation, including industrial development, trade connectivity, education and training, cultural exchanges, and scientific and technological innovation.
Representatives from 14 SCO-related demonstration zones, bases, platforms, and centers shared their experiences, outlined cooperation needs, and discussed opportunities for closer collaboration.
Two parallel sessions were held, one focusing on AI applications and industrial cooperation, and the other on youth talent exchanges and collaboration.
During the AI session, the China-SCO Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center issued an initiative calling for joint projects, wider industrial applications, and greater cooperation in international markets.
The youth session brought together government representatives, universities, businesses, and young people to explore opportunities in employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
SCODA officials said the demonstration area would work more closely with other SCO platforms to improve resource sharing, industrial connectivity, and trade cooperation.
