On March 9, the SITC Hainan vessel completed loading operations at Qingdao Port's Qianwan Container Terminal and set sail on its maiden voyage directly to Iloilo, the Philippines. This new service, launched by SITC Container Lines, marks the official launch of a dedicated Philippines route from Qingdao Port, adding fresh momentum to China-Philippines economic ties.

As the only direct route between Qingdao and Iloilo, this service eliminates the need for transit at intermediate ports, significantly reducing logistics costs and cutting delivery time by at least one day compared to traditional transshipment methods. With stable schedules and ample capacity, the route connects key ports including Qingdao, Iloilo, Cebu, and Cagayan, precisely addressing the diverse logistics needs of growing bilateral trade.

Qingdao Port developed a customized operational plan to ensure smooth handling of the maiden voyage, coordinating seamlessly between berthing, loading, and customs clearance. The terminal achieved a comprehensive berth efficiency of 83.8 natural boxes per hour, demonstrating its capability as a world-class Northeast Asian shipping hub.

This is the third Southeast Asia route launched by Qingdao Port this year, further strengthening the region's logistics network. Looking ahead, Qingdao Port will continue optimizing its service systems, providing professional operations and efficient supply chain solutions to support China's opening-up strategy and facilitate regional economic cooperation.
