30 major cooperation outcomes in five categories were collectively unveiled in the recently-held 2025 North Bund Forum. The outcomes include five newly-launched green shipping corridors, namely, the Ningbo Zhoushan Port-HAROPA Port Alliance Green Shipping Corridor, the Qingdao Port-Port of Hamburg Green Shipping Corridor, the Qingdao Port-Port William Green Shipping Corridor, the Shanghai Port-Barcelona Port Digital Green Ro/Ro Shipping Corridor and the Shanghai Port-Port of Antwerp Bruges Digital Ro/Ro Shipping Corridor. The move marks that the global green shipping system in which Shanghai Port, Qingdao Port and Ningbo Zhoushan Port serve as core nodes is taking shape at a faster pace.
The Port of Hamburg, the largest port in Germany as well as an important node in the Belt and Road Initiative, is certified as a carbon neutral port. The Port William is pursuing the strategy of green transformation, in which hydrogen energy plays a pivotal role. Concerted efforts to build these green shipping corridors will help promote zero-carbon technology, clean fuel and intelligent management across shipping routes, facilitate decarbonization and green transformation in the global shipping industry, and make Qingdao Port more appealing to international shipping resources and businesses.
