As of October 22, the combined number of entries and exits recorded at Qingdao Airport reached 2.88 million, surpassing last year’s total number. The number of passengers and flights saw a year-on-year surge of 23.7% and 12.6%, respectively.
Data shows that more than 408,000 foreign passengers entered China via Qingdao Airport, soaring 50.9% from a year earlier. Nearly 310,000 foreign travelers were applicable to visa exemption or visa-free transit policies, representing about 76% of the total number of inbound foreign travelers.
The visa exemption policy has motivated nationals of the countries nearby to visit China for traveling or business purposes. The number of passengers from South Korea and Japan reached record highs, surging about 57.9% and 39.9% from a year earlier, respectively. (Zhou Jianliang)
