The Dapeng Princess LNG carrier independently developed by China recently berthed at the Sinopec Qingdao LNG terminal in the Qingdao Dongjiakou Economic Zone. Pouring of 78,000 cubic meters of Liquefied natural gas, which was transported by the carrier, into China’s largest single-structure bonded warehouse marked the conclusion of the first bonded gas business operation in Shandong Province.

Bonded natural gas bunkering is among key measures to take advantage of markets and resources at home and abroad, extend the LNG industry chain, expand gas operations and help boost regional economic development. The Qingdao terminal, hailed as China’s sole bonded LNG warehousing and transportation terminal with dual berths, boasts a berthing capacity of 30,000 to 270,000 cubic meters for all kinds of LNG carriers. Since the start of this year, the Qingdao LNG terminal has worked hard to launch a broad range of innovative services from gas testing, ship refueling and technical transfer, entered into a strategic agreement with China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited on building of new LNG carriers and overhaul of existing ones, and reached cooperation intentions with many international energy companies on bonded transportation.
