The 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail was recently convened in Beijing. Meanwhile, the Modern Railways 2025 was also held, attracting the participation of 521 enterprises and showcasing advanced rail technology and equipment from across the globe. Qingdao-made high-speed train protypes and core systems were among the exhibits.
In the exhibition hall of China National Railway Test Center, the lineup of featured high-speed trains were put on display, including the prototype of the CR450AF bullet train boasting a speed of 400 kilometers per hour, the world’s fastest high-speed train developed by CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd., the “upgraded” Fuxing CR400AF-S bullet train, and the real 600 km/h high-speed maglev train, the fastest ground access vehicle. Numerous visitors from home and abroad stopped to watch these vehicles and took selfies in front of them. Chinese high-speed trains have grabbed the spotlight with their technical expertise.
Launched in 1992 by the International Union of Railways (UIC), the World Congress on High-Speed Rail is held every two to three years and hailed as a global event to demonstrate and discuss worldwide high-speed rail development and achievements. 2025 marks the 200th anniversary of the modern railway, and the World Congress on High-Speed Rail was held in Beijing for a second time in a clear sign of China’s important position and role in the global development of high-speed rail.
