Two Guangzhou Parks Win 2026 Large Urban Parks Award from World Urban Parks

City Life | The results of the 2026 World Urban Parks (WUP) Awards have been announced, with Guangzhou Children’s Park and Guangzhou Yuexiu Park receiving the Large Urban Parks Award. Featuring 24 themed play zones, Guangzhou Children’s Park is home to China's first barrier-free play area for children with disabilities. With features including Braille signage and wheelchair-accessible swings, the park turns the concept of inclusive play into a practical, replicable model. With more than 2,000 years of history woven into its landscape, Guangzhou Yuexiu Park is an important urban green space and a cultural landmark reflecting Guangzhou’s long heritage.

近日， 2026年度WUP奖项评选结果正式揭晓，广州市儿童公园、广州市越秀公园荣获“大型城市公园奖（Large Urban Parks Award）”。广州市儿童公园规划24个主题游乐区，建成全国首个残障儿童专属“五羊号”无动力游乐区，配套盲文、轮椅秋千，将全纳包容（Inclusive Play）设计理念转化为可复制实践。广州市越秀公园承载着两千多年的城市记忆，既是广州珍贵的城市绿肺，也是镌刻城市文脉的文化殿堂。
