From Fallen Leaves to New Life: A Breadfruit Tree’s Witness to "Green Alchemy"
City Life | As a breadfruit tree in Magnolia Garden, Zhujiang Park, Guangzhou, I have witnessed transformations over twenty-five years. This summer’s yield of over thirty fruitsis a rare marvel in Guangzhou, which stems from a revolutionary recycling initiative. In 2020, the park established a waste-sorting station and introduced branch shredders. After being improved by technicians, it no longer raises dust or disturbs visitors, working instead like a silent “pianist” and transforming foliage into wood chips that reduce volume by 90%. Thus, fallen leaves and broken branches achieve phoenix-like rebirth.#citylife
