Yuliang Old Village, Lianping, Heyuan: The unique fishing technique attracts many visitors

Xiaowu Village, located in Lianping County, Heyuan City, is situated in the upper reaches of the Xinfeng River, at the foot of Gefeng Mountain. Surrounded by mountains and water, it boasts abundant fishery resources, making fishing the main livelihood for most of the local villagers historically.

During the fishing season, the villagers employ the ancient and unique technique of fishing weirs. Fishing weirs involve constructing a barrier to trap fish, using wooden stakes, wood branches, or woven nets made of fence materials. These weirs are placed in rivers, tidal rivers, or sea outlets. In July of this year, the Guangdong Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage for Fishing Weir Cultural Exhibition Hall was officially opened. The exterior of the hall is designed in the shape of a fishing weir, while the interior showcases fishing weir models, local fishing weir cultural heritage, and development information, which has attracted a lot of tourists and locals to visit.

河源市连平县田源镇肖屋村位于新丰江上游，坐落在连平县八景之一“戈峰耸翠”的戈峰山脚下。这里依山傍水，渔业资源十分丰富，故早年当地村民大多靠捕鱼为生。

每年江面水涨到了捕鱼时节，肖屋村的村民就利用古老而独特的鱼梁技艺捕鱼。鱼梁，也称渔梁，指筑堰拦水捕鱼的一种设施，用木桩、柴枝或编网等制成篱笆或栅栏，置于河流、潮水河中或出海口处。今年7月底，在肖屋村委会办公楼旁边，广东省非物质文化遗产作鱼梁文化展馆正式投入使用，这座文化展馆外形似鱼梁形状，里面展出鱼梁模型、当地鱼梁文化的传承和发展资料等，吸引了不少游客与当地村民参观。
