四月八，龙船透底挖。5月15日，农历四月初八，广州荔湾泮塘村在荔湾湖公园内举行“起龙”仪式。所谓“起龙”，即是将藏在湖底泥潭里的龙船挖出来，为端午节的泮塘龙船景作准备。据悉，可追溯至明朝嘉靖年间的一艘老龙船再次和街坊见面。
