Conghua, Guangzhou: Shuizu folk dance representative inheritor Li Jianzhong, gives new life to traditional arts

With the rhythm of the drums, 50 actors and actresses are holding up props such as #carps and #lobsters, constantly changing postures. This was a joyful and enthusiastic Shuizu folk dance performance staged by the Shuizu folk dance team of Conghua, Guangzhou, at the Guangzhou Cultural Centre.

The Conghua Shuizu folk dance carries local villagers' wishes for the "fish jumping through #dragon gate" in their hometown. To keep these interesting bamboo fish weaving and Shuizu folk dance praying for good luck in people's memories, Li Jianzhong, the representative inheritor of the Shuizu folk dance, has made unremitting efforts. #artandculture

近日，在广州文化馆的广场上，锣鼓声阵阵回响。随着鼓声节奏的顿挫起伏，50名男女老少手中高举的鳌鱼、鲤鱼、龙虾等舞蹈道具不断变化着身姿……这是广州市从化区水族舞传承服务队在广州文化馆上演的一幕喜庆热烈的水族舞表演。

“草泽鲤鱼登一级，塘池鱼跃浪千层。鲤跃始从春鼓浪，鱼游初化夜登门。”从化水族舞承载着当地草塘社村民对家乡“鱼跃龙门”的美好愿望。为了让这些妙趣横生的“编竹鱼”、祈求顺遂的“水族舞”在人们的记忆中不遗失，从化水族舞代表性传承人黎建中对此作出了不懈努力。
