Shixing, Shaoguan: Chinese medicine Akebia Fruit ushers in the picking season

Golden October ushers in a bumper harvest. Over the past few days, the “Akebia Fruit” planted in a fruit garden in Shixing, Shaoguan heralded the picking season. “Akebia Fruit”, irregularly oblong or oval, is used for both medicine and food. They are usually ripe in August of the lunar calendar. The skin of the fruit is purple and the belly line reveals the white flesh inside which is soft, tender, and sweet. The skin can also be used in medicine and wine. Inside the garden, under the green vines on the shelves are full of plump fruits of different colors, emitting a light fragrance that makes people salivate.

300多棵“八月炸”都已经成熟挂果

金秋十月，丰收至。连日来，韶关市始兴县野果园种植的“八月炸”迎来了采摘季节。“八月炸”，是藤本植物三叶木通的果实，中药名叫预知子，是药食两用的野果，果实呈不规则的长圆形或椭圆形。农历八月果实成熟，果皮呈紫色，腹线处会“炸开”，露出里面白色的果肉，果肉酥软细滑、鲜嫩清甜，果皮还可入药、泡酒。园内，架子上翠绿的藤蔓下挂满了肥硕的“八月炸”，有翠绿色、紫色、黄色的果实，露出洁白的果肉，散发出淡淡清香，让人垂涎欲滴。
