Welcome back! The first high-speed train with migrant workers reached Guangzhou 

NewYearinLingnanAt 4:02 PM on January 29, Train D2991, fully loaded with 618 Guangxi migrant workers, slowly entered Guangzhou South Railway Station. This is the first high-speed train that returned to Guangzhou this year, carrying migrant workers.

Zhou, from Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County, Guilin, Guangxi, works in a textile factory in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The factory started early this year, so he hurried to resume work. He said: "This is the second year I have taken the special train back to Guangzhou for work. It used to be difficult to get a ticket, but now as long as we sign up in the village, we can take the train to Guangzhou for free. How great the policy is!"

There are many other migrant workers like Zhou on this high-speed train and they head for Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhuhai, and other cities to work and live. They will be a strong supplementary force for the manufacturing and construction industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, contributing to the high-quality development of the urban economy.

1月29日16时2分，满载618名广西籍务工人员的D2991次列车，缓缓驶进广州南站。这是今年首趟抵达广州的务工返岗高铁专列。

“这是我第二年坐务工专列来广州了，以前车票难买，现在村里报名就能免费坐高铁来广州打工，政策太好了。”来自广西桂林市恭城瑶族自治县的周师傅兴奋地说道，他在海珠区的一家纺织厂工作，今年厂里开工早，他赶紧回来复工。

在这趟高铁上，像周师傅一样来自桂林的外出务工人员还有许多，他们将前往广州、东莞、珠海等地区工作和生活，为粤港澳大湾区制造、建筑行业补充力量，助力城市经济实现高质量发展。
