The 2024 UAE Kung Fu Championship kicked off on Saturday in Dubai, the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), building a bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Arab countries.

The event brought about more than 90 young athletes aged 5 to 18 to compete in traditional Chinese martial arts exhibition match and actual combat match, which also attracted many martial arts fans.
"When people think of China, they think of Kung Fu. One can achieve inner balance by practicing Chinese martial arts. It can also help people maintain physical and mental health," said Mohammed, a martial arts fan.
"I've been trying to introduce Chinese martial arts culture to UAE and let children here practice martial arts, so that they can grow up better and stronger," said Abdullah, a martial arts fan.
The event was hosted by local Chinese associations. The organizers hoped that through such activities and competitions with Chinese characteristics in UAE, more local people will become interested in Chinese culture through Kung Fu.
