The "Journey through Civilizations" global exhibition staged by China Media Group (CMG) opened at the China Cultural Center in Cairo on Thursday.
The event was attended by more than 100 people, including representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Egypt and officials from the Egyptian cultural and media sectors.
Using cutting-edge technologies, the digital exhibition not only depicts the origin and vicissitude of Chinese civilization, but also presents the historical scenes and inventions of different periods vividly.
At the opening event, an interactive gaming experience area was showed, where attendees can have a firsthand experience of the unique allure of ancient Chinese cultural sites such as Liangzhu, Yinxu, Shimao, and Sanxingdui, through cutting-edge digital technologies.
This innovative approach allowed them to immerse themselves in the profound and extensive heritage of Chinese civilization as if they time traveled to these historical sites.
The special exhibition will run till Nov. 2.
"Hosting events like the 'Journey Through Civilizations' exhibition is of great importance, and we have been deeply involved in it. This has provided us with better understanding about people-to-people exchanges. I hope the global exhibition will achieve greater success, the cooperation between Egyptian TV and CMG will be closer, and the cultural integration between two countries will be tighter," said Naila Farouk, head of Egyptian TV.
"Setting one of the stops of the global exhibition in Egypt showcases the mutual learning between our two countries' civilizations. I believe that in such atmosphere, the culture of each country will continuously develop, making their own contribution to the entire human civilization," said Shao Bin, deputy director of China Cultural Center in Cairo.
Audiences at the event enjoyed the premiere of the documentary film "Treasures and Masks," which reveals the long history and splendid civilization of China and Egypt. The film also marks a collaborative effort between China Global Television Network, an international media organization affiliated to CMG, and Egyptian TV.
