The 18th Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival, which took place as scheduled from August 28 to September 6, had the entire city immersed into festive vibes stemming from marine sports.
In Qingdao’s Fushan Bay area, thousands of sailboats participating in the ASAF Cup Qingdao International Regatta 2026 contended fiercely with each other and composed a flowing rainbow. Contestants in the 2026 China Motosurf Club Cup braved the wind and waves and steered their surfboards as fast as flying arrows. Roaring motors sounded in the China Powerboat World Cup (Qingdao), and appeared to play a symphony with splashing waves. The Mayor’s Cup International Regatta, a most time-honored event, still grabbed enormous attention. In Tangdao Bay area, the China Coastal Rowing Beach Sprint Invitational 2026 thrilled the mind of viewers. The 2026 China Sup U-Series (Qingdao) attracted the participation of 150 teenagers from across the country. As a result, the sea surface that used to be peaceful broke into thousands of glistening pieces.
In the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, young-aged contestants from ASEAN countries travelled all the way to contend in the Qingdao International Optimist Training Camp and Regatta 2026. Despite language barriers, children managed to exchange their opinions on wind and waves on the dyke-dam. Citizens stood up on their feet by the sea, and tried to catch sight of every rotating sail. Passengers on pleasure-ships recorded with their cameras every jump on the top of waves, and burst into cheers from time to time to boost the morale of contestants in the distance.
