The 2023 Silk Road International Photo Exhibition opened in the ancient city of Xi 'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province on Saturday, in a bid to let more people understand and know about the Silk Road.
The exhibition draws photographers from all over the world, who used their unique perspectives and superb photography techniques to capture the beautiful moments and historical sites of the Silk Road.
The works not only show the natural scenery and cultural landscape of the Silk Road, but also convey the photographers' thoughts and perceptions on history and reality, inheritance and innovation of this ancient road through their lenses.
"This exhibition is impressive and let me know more about the culture and history of the Silk Road. These photos are very unique and excellent. I hope this exhibition will let more people know about the culture and history of the Silk Road and promote exchanges among Silk Road countries," said a student from Kyrgyzstan.
"Photographers have recorded the beauty of the ancient Silk Road with their lenses, and they are also witnessing the changes of the Belt and Road Initiative at the same time. We hope that such activities can make everyone experience the changes in our life and of the times," said Heng Guoliang, deputy secretary general of Xi 'an Photographers Association.
More than 2,000 years ago, the people of Eurasia explored and opened up several routes of trade and cultural exchanges, which were called the "Silk Road" by later generations.
