The Qingdao Pingdu Xinhe International Land Port project has recently entered a critical period of construction. Neighboring the Bohai Bay Economic Circle in the north and adjacent to the chemical engineering industry belt spanning Weifang, Dongying and Binzhou in the west, the international land port enjoys a remarkable geographical advantage and excels in reaching out to other places, and is therefore included in Qingdao’s 14th Five-Year Plan for transportation and logistics and serves as a key link in the construction of a three-dimensional transportation hub featuring “air-land integration, land-sea coordination and global access”. With a total investment of RMB6 bln and covering a land area of 1,400 Mu, the land port will be mainly composed of a transit shipment platform for multimodal transport, an integrated highway collection and distribution service center and a comprehensive service base for interconnected development for logistics and industries, and poised to become a logistics distribution center across Bohai Bay.
After put into operation, the Pingdu Xinhe International Land Port will be built into a transit shipment platform for mutimodal transport, an integrated collection and distribution service center and a logistics and industrial development service base, where enterprises can go through customs declaration and tax reimbursements for imports and exports in the locality. The synergistic effect from “professional parks+land port+industry agglomeration” will help greatly reduce the haulage time and cut transport costs to guarantee fast and high-quality delivery of orders in enterprises.
