According to statistics by Qingdao Customs, Qingdao’s imports and exports in the first 11 months of this year totaled RMB 805.67 bln, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%, comprising exports of RMB 432.69 bln, up 1.6%, and imports of RMB 372.98 bln, up 12%.

Imports and exports with main markets remained on an upward trend. In the first 11 months, Qingdao’s imports and exports with the ASEAN, the US, the EU and Japan amounted to RMB 158.73 bln, RMB 87.92 bln, RMB 86.17 bln and RMB 59.64 bln, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%, 5.7%, 6.1% and 2.8%, respectively, compared with RMB 419.44 bln for the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, increasing by 6.8% and representing 52.1% of Qingdao’s total imports and exports.

Mechanical and electrical products still play a dominant role. Over the period, Qingdao’s exports of electrical products have increased 5.9% to RMB 209.34 bln, up 5.9% and representing 48.4% of Qingdao’s total exports. Among them, exports of household appliances have amounted to RMB 31.05 bln, up 22.2%; exports of automobiles have surged 105.5% to RMB 7.57 bln. Over the period, imports of mechanical and electrical products have expanded 46.2% to RMB 62.76 bln.
