RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Gabriel Barbosa and Philippe Coutinho scored second-half goals as Santos recovered from a goal down to clinch a 2-1 win at Fluminense in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
Rodrigo Castillo put the hosts ahead in the fourth minute at the Maracana when he fired in from the edge of the six-yard box after a scramble inside the penalty box.
The visitors equalized early in the second half when Gabriel Barbosa drove a first-time effort into the bottom right corner after Rodinei's cross.
Coutinho completed the turnaround five minutes later with his first goal for Santos, latching onto Gabriel Bontempo's cross with a glancing header into the far corner.
"It's a good feeling to score again, especially at this stadium," said Coutinho, who joined Santos on a free transfer in September. "We played a great game against a strong team that likes to control possession and play out from the back. But we improved after halftime and dealt with their pressure a lot better. I think we deserved the win in the end."
Santos is now eighth in the 20-team standings with 45 points, six behind fifth-placed Fluminense.
In Porto Alegre, Kaio Jorge scored a hat-trick as Cruzeiro cruised to a 4-2 win at 10-man Gremio. The result lifted the Belo Horizonte side to fourth while Gremio is 18th and remains entrenched in a relegation battle.
Elsewhere in Brazil's top flight on Sunday, Bragantino drew 1-1 at Remo and Flamengo prevailed 3-0 at Bahia.
