A dragon boat race on ice held in Yinchuan of China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on Sunday attracted more than 700 participants across China.

Rather than riding on water, the participants use metal paddles to stab the ice and propel the dragon boats forward.
"We are competing in this race for the first time. Everyone is so passionate about the event, and I believe everyone is a winner. They all did an amazing job," said Ye Xiuhong, a participant.
