East China's Jiangsu Province is seeing a boom in cultural consumption during this summer break, with a variety of activities like touring art exhibitions, visiting bookstores, and going to cinemas all gaining increasing popularity among consumers.
The Deji Art Museum, situated in a shopping mall in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu, provides painting viewers with an immersive and interactive art experience through advanced digital technology, which allows viewers to personally experience the life of ancient Chinese as depicted in the paintings.
Additionally, a range of exquisite art painting-themed products available at the museum's store has also won the favor of many consumers.
"I could travel into the paintings (through digital technology) to experience the customs and culture of Nanjing from 1,000 years ago. After the exhibition, we visited the museum's store of creative cultural works and bought some exquisite and cute souvenirs. Overall, it was a wonderful museum experience together with shopping," said Li Zitong, a Nanjing resident.
During the summer holidays, bookstores have also become an ideal choice for parents to bring their children for some reading. In Suqian City, a nice bookstore in a shopping mall has seen a notable increase in book sales, with nearly 100 visitors a day.
"The environment here is very good, providing a peaceful space from the busy surroundings. The book store has also added cultural elements to the mall," said a mother named Zhang Ludan.
Moreover, some high school graduates choose to go to the cinema with their families during the summer break, which is a favored cultural activity among young consumers and also a relaxing way to celebrate their graduation.
"I came here to watch a movie, then have a meal and chat with my family. For me, spending time with them is the best way to celebrate my graduation," said Xu Chaoqun, a recent high school graduate.
