The Changchun Air Show drew over 230,000 visitors on Sunday, the third day of the event, as crowds gathered to witness high-octane aerial performances and tactical demonstrations in northeast China's Jilin Province.

On the second day of the 2025 aviation open-day activities of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force and the Changchun Air Show, spectators were treated to a series of high-difficulty stunts that highlighted the seamless coordination between pilots and aircraft.
Paratroopers staged a simulated counter-terrorism assault, offering an up-close look at small-scale airborne combat tactics.
In addition, elite aerobatic teams of the Bayi Aerobatic Team, the Red Falcon Air Demonstration Team, and the Sky Wing Air Demonstration Team took to the skies with stunning maneuvers, showcasing the agility and stability of China's advanced fighter jets.
The demonstration drew enthusiastic applause from attendees.
"It's absolutely breathtaking. I feel proud of my country. Back in 1949 during the founding ceremony, we couldn't even..., the planes had to fly two rounds," said a spectator.
The 2025 aviation open-day activities marked a breakthrough in presenting capabilities in a structured, integrated way and with a combat-focused approach.
A YY-20A tanker aircraft and two J-16 fighters performed a live refueling simulation, underscoring the PLA Air Force strategic reach and long-range deployment capabilities.
The formation of a KJ-500 early warning aircraft and four J-20 fighter jets showed the progress in offensive and defensive operations made by the PLA Air Force, while the twin-bomber formation of H-6 aircraft illustrated the growing role of China's strategic air fleet.
Scheduled to run for five days, this year's event showcased over 100 aircraft, from cutting-edge jets to retired classics.
The static exhibition area has expanded significantly, with six dedicated pavilions and larger display zones. Making its debut appearance, China's Aero Engine Corporation presents a lineup of newly developed engines.
The J-20 made its debut static display in the exhibition area, offering military enthusiasts and aviation fans a rare opportunity to get an up-close look at China's first domestically-developed fifth-generation stealth fighter.
Since its inception in 2011, the air show has become a key platform to display the PLA Air Force's development achievements and strategic transformation.
