QINGDAO - The China SCO Institute of Economy and Trade has been serving as a hub for economic and technological cooperation, providing talent training for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and building a platform for multilateral trade.

Located in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, the China SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, initiated at the 2018 SCO Qingdao Summit, has grown into a landmark platform for China SCO cooperation.

Building on the SCO demonstration zone, the China SCO Institute of Economy and Trade was officially inaugurated in 2022. For young people from SCO and Belt and Road countries, it offers not only a place to acquire new skills, but also an opportunity to build connections and foster mutual understanding.

Over 300 young students from SCO and Belt and Road countries are now starting a new semester at the institute. Twelve of them come from Kyrgyzstan and have been at the institute for more than half a year. Beyond intensive Chinese language training, they are also learning about China from multiple perspectives through a diverse curriculum.

In addition to regular Chinese language courses, the institute integrates industry practice into its teaching by organizing company visits for international students.

It has also held over 400 professional training sessions on topics such as international trade and global business expansion, training more than 28,000 participants from China and abroad, helping to develop versatile trade talents for the SCO.
