Complete engineering equipment exported to Central America for the first time via Jiangyin terminal
On March 15, the Jiangyin terminal of Fuzhou Port was a hive of activity, where a shipment of complete engineering equipment worth more than RMB 40 mln was smoothly loaded onto a ship and headed for Nicaragua. The fulfillment of this significant export task marked not only the first time that complete sets of engineering equipment was exported to Central America via the Jiangyin terminal of Fuzhou Port, but a major stride the terminal has made in becoming more able to export large complete equipment, tapping into American market and facilitate the development of countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, thus providing a new channel for Fujian-made goods to venture abroad.
In recent years, infrastructure construction is gaining momentum across the globe, and countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative are particularly pushing for infrastructure upgrades. Given such core strengths as advanced technology, reliable performance and stable delivery, Chinese-made engineering equipment becomes increasingly competitive in the overseas market and witnesses a steady growth of exports. The shipment of engineering equipment falls into wide categories and primarily consists of heavy steel structures, container goods and engineering vehicles like excavators, all of which will be used for infrastructure construction in local industry parks.
