The third Liangzhu Forum, which opened Saturday in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, hosted a special market for visitors to experience traditional cultures with a diverse choice of cultural and creative products.
The market has a dedicated pavilion for promoting cultural exchanges between China and the world where visitors can design a mug for themselves on mobile phone using AI technology.
The integration between traditional culture and modern technology won favor of many visitors.
"The idea is really novel, and I can make a customized mug for each member of my family," said Sheng Yan, a visitor to the pavilion.
The market also gathered dedicated cultural and creative products from 17 Chinese museums to provide one-stop shopping experience to visitors from China and across the world.
"Shopping in the market is really convenient, because I can experience different cultures of China and buy various cultural and creative products just in one place," said Karina, an international tourist.
The market also held a series of salons themed on cultural and creative goods, where participants can engage in discussions to share their views on culture.
The three-day Liangzhu Forum gathered over 300 global experts to explore cultural heritage and diversity, and spotlight China's growing role in world heritage protection.
Attendees included heads of cultural heritage protection and management institutions, museum directors, archaeologists and historians from more than 60 countries and regions.
Located in the Yangtze River Basin of Zhejiang Province, the archeological ruins of Liangzhu, dating back at least 5,000 years, reveal an early regional state with a unified belief system based on rice cultivation in the late Neolithic Period (around 7000-1700 BC). The archeological site is recognized as one of the earliest examples of Chinese civilization.
