A national shopping carnival centered around China's time-horned brands was launched Wednesday in Fuzhou City, capital of east China's Fujian Province, as part of the government-led efforts to spur spending during the Spring Festival holiday season.
For the upcoming two weeks, a wide array of products and techniques with distinct Chinese cultural characteristics, which are passed down through generations, will take the center stage in all kinds of shopping scenarios like on-site exhibition, online promotion, and exchange activities targeting both domestic and overseas consumers.
The carnival was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce with the aim of adding steam to domestic consumption during the Spring Festival holiday.
The Chinese New Year 2024 falls on Feb 10, starting the Year of the Dragon.
