Foreign reporters explore Qingdao 2023/5/22 source: Print

In Qingdao, which is located in East China's Shandong province, nearly 30 foreign journalists from 18 countries recently gathered at the three-day "Discover China - Foreign Media's Journey to Qingdao" event

Aiming to immerse foreign journalists in China's rich historical and cultural heritage alongside its modern advancements, the event promoted the image of the country through the eyes of the international press.

First, the delegation explored the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, a 5.4-million-square-meter complex with a total investment of 50 billion yuan ($7.11 billion). The complex boasts state-of-the-art film studios, workshops, and production facilities for both indoor and outdoor projects.

At the Qingdao Beer Museum, the visitors learned about the century-old development of China's beer industry within its 6,000-square-meter exhibition space, which showcases industrial artifacts, such as saccharification furnaces and generators.

As day turned to night, the journalists marveled at the light show showcased in Fushan Bay, which has the world's longest coastal curved light and shadow screen.

The "Discover China" event provided visiting journalists with an in-depth look at the captivating beauty of Qingdao and a chance to develop mutual understanding and enhance cultural exchanges and communication.
