Orders-on-hand of Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., which is located in the Haixi Bay, West Coast New Area, Qingdao, has now chalked up a historic high and exceeded the 100 units mark. This marks that the shipbuilder has reached new heights in terms of manufacturing and operation.
Orders on hand serve as a core measure for the strength of a shipbuilder. This means that a shipbuilder is preoccupied with production tasks. The indicator not only guarantees the future revenue of a company, but also embodies its competitive advantage in the market. Orders on hand of Beihai shipbuilding have surpassed 23 million deadweight tons. A few orders are scheduled to be delivered in 2030.
Over recent years, Beihai Shipbuilding has taken faster steps to pursue green development, developed a full and well-tiered matrix of ships powered by green energy sources, pursued a development strategy that places equal emphasis on dual-fuel LNG-powered vessels, dual-fuel methanol-powered fuel, dual-fuel ethanol-powered vessels, and tri-fuel methanol and ethanol-powered vessels, and had its main models of vessels built according to green solutions. Vessels powered by green energy sources represent more than 80% of the existing orders of Beihai Shipbuilding that number over 100 units. This is a testament to the company’s core competitive advantage in helping fulfill the strategy of peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. (Wang Kai, Li Xunxiang)
