Qingdao-made “Tiger 6G” high-end light trucks make inroads into Southeast Asia 2026/4/11 source: International daily Print

64 Jiefang “Tiger 6G” high-end light trucks was recently shipped from Jimo District to the Philippines. This marks the first batch of deliveries of the model to Southeast Asia. Among these vehicles, 32 units are cargo trucks and the other 32 units are dump trucks. All of them are tailored for markets where low carbon emissions are required, and provided with 4.2L large mechanical pump motors, thereby excelling tremendously in both cost performance and carrying capacity.

It took merely three months for these “Tiger 6G” trucks characterized by low carbon emissions to undergo all procedures from planning to trial assembly. All this cannot be achieved without the Jimo base’s R&D and manufacturing competence, and rapid response capability. The FAW-Jiefang Jimo base is an important component of the automotive industry in Qingdao, where a complete industrial chain, ranging from R&D, manufacturing to components and parts, has taken form. Thanks to the Jimo base’s manufacturing strength and technical accumulation, the overseas sales of FAW-Jiefang light trucks saw continuous record highs in recent years. The sales figures hit 5,000 units in 2023, surged to 11,000 units in 2024, and surpassed 14,000 units in 2025.  (Wang Tao)
