Qingdao recently determined 268 green and low-carbon high-quality development projects for 2026, which draw a combined investment of RMB 186.31 bln. 214 of them are high-quality development projects pertaining to Qingdao’s “10+1” innovation-driven industrial system, top ten modern service sectors and “4+4+2” modern marine industrial system, highlighting Qingdao’s decision to help its competitive industries to ascend towards a high-end value chain.

In the citywide campaign on building Qingdao into a “Chinese health and wellness bay area”, the first phase of the Xiuzheng (China) marine biological medicine and health technology industry base, the Qingdao Tianbao medical technology industry park and the Qingdao life and health technology and high-end intelligent manufacturing industry base (the second phase) among other projects will jointly foster a RMB 100 bln-level life and health industry chain. With a focus on the goal of growing Qingdao into a world-class international shipping center, quite a lot projects such as Qingdao Port Qianwan Harbor District north shore terminal rebuilding and extension project (the first phase) and the Qingdao shipping and trade finance headquarters mansion will help Qingdao gain momentum in building a comprehensive hub city. Over a dozen of the SCO-featured projects, including the Shandong High-speed Group SCO Economic and Trade Cooperation Industry Park and the Huamian cotton trading center of Huamian Shanghe (Qingdao) Cotton Co., Ltd. will help the SCO Demonstration Area to better function as a local economic and trade cooperation platform.
