Efforts of hundreds of companies to seek global presence, which range from locating factories in Southeast Asia to building overseas warehousing and logistics bases in the Middle East, and from promoting garment customization overseas to resolving maritime disputes, are facilitated by the Foreign-related Legal Services Center in the Qingdao Central Legal Affairs District. Depending on related platforms and overseas service stations, the Foreign-related Legal Services Center has so far helped more than 100 companies to seek global presence, provided 1,000-plus companies with the intention of venturing abroad with one-stop legal services across all domains. These moves will greatly advance Qingdao’s efforts to set a new model for providing foreign-related legal services.
As China continues to expand opening up, businesses are increasingly willing to venture out overseas. In 2024, Qingdao was home to more than 25,000 key foreign trade-oriented companies and boasted over RMB900 bln in the total value of imports and exports. Therefore, businesses which are seeking overseas presence increasingly crave for legal services. In response to the fact that legal services required by companies venturing abroad are complicated and varied, the Foreign-related Legal Services Center has optimized the allocation of public legal resources in a holistic manner to build an ecosystem to pool foreign-related legal services.
