The first China-Europe freight train (Shandong, China-Dong Nai, Vietnam) fully loaded with medical glass and chemical products arrived at Zhanpan Station in Dong Nai Station, Vietnam on March 16. This is the 20th international freight train route launched by the SCO Demonstration Area, which will further diversify the railway logistics channel between Qingdao and the RCEP signatories.
The freight train loaded with a total of 82 TEUs set out from the multimodal transport center in the SCO Demonstration Area, left China’s border via Pingxiang Port in Guangxi, was transferred in Ga Yên Viên, and arrived at Dong Nai Province in Vietnam after a ten days’ journey.
Since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) took effect on January 1, 2022, the SCO Demonstration Area has opened up the new routes to cities in southeast Asian countries, including Hanoi in Vietnam and Vientiane in the Laos, and operated regularly the “express land and sea routes to Japan and South Korea”, the “express routes to the SCO member states” and the “China-Laos international freight train”. The SCO Demonstration Area has so far regularly opened up 10 domestic and 20 international freight train routes which can reach 54 cities in 23 countries and regions included in the SCO and the Belt and Road Initiative.
