Exports of used vehicles are emerging as a new domain in foreign trade. In the first half of this year, exports of used vehicles by Qingdao, which prides itself on the sea-land-air-rail integration, hit as many as 8,398 units, surging 82.8% year on year, whose amount was valued at USD130 mln, up 43.1% from a year earlier.

By the end of this June, Qingdao was home to as many as 97 licensed exporters of used vehicles, 31 of which are newly registered this year. Data shows that Qingdao has exported used vehicles to 66 countries and regions, and SCO member states represented by Russia and countries in the Middle East such as the UAE has occupied a combined total of more than 80%. In regard to vehicle types, passenger vehicles represent the bulk, occupying 97.3%, and commercial vehicles account for the remaining 2.7%.  (Liu Lanxing)
