Since the start of the summer, the Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport has been seeing soaring inbound and outbound passengers on the back of multiple favorable policies. As of 13: 45 on July 30, the total number of entries and exits through the Qingdao Airport reached the 2 million mark 43 days earlier than last year, the inbound and outbound passenger flow and the number of flights added by 23.7% and 14% respectively on a year earlier, both surging to historic highs since Qingdao relocated the international airport to Jiaodong.

Since the beginning of this year, a rising number of foreign passengers have chosen to enter or depart from China via the Qingdao Airport as a continuous stream of policies were unveiled to provide facilitation for foreigners to travel to China, and a series of international events and conferences were held in Qingdao and elsewhere in Shandong Province, including the SCO Summer event, the 6th Qingdao Multinationals Summit, the 2025 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Exchange Week, and the Qingdao International Friendship Cities Exchange Month. A total of nearly 280,000 foreign passengers have so far entered China via the Qingdao Airport, 73% of whom took advantage of all sorts of visa exemption policies.   (Zhou Jianliang)
