13 upper modules of a 400,000 tons-level marine oil and gas plant delivered in Qingdao 2025/1/24 source: International daily Print

Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. recently announced that 13 upper modules of Brazilia-based Petrobras 400,000 tons-level P79 FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) project contracted by the company were completed and delivered in the Qingdao international high-end equipment manufacturing base, marking a new breakthrough in China’s capacity to manufacture high-end marine energy equipment.

With a total length of 345.3 meters, a molded breadth of 60 meters and the maximum displacement of 400,000 tons, the P79 FPSO, one of the biggest in the globe, will be serviced, once completion takes place, in Buzios, a giant deepwater oil filed in Brazil’s Santos Basin, with an operating water depth of more than 2,000 meters. Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. is contracted to design, source, build and ship 13 core compressor modules. Weighing some 30,000 tons in total and composed of more than 320,000 structural parts, these modules have involved installation works of 153 large units of mechanical equipment as well as up to 300,000 meters-long electric cables.  (Wang Kai)
