A pilot scale production line for sulfide all-solid-state batteries begins operations in Qingdao 2025/1/17 source: International daily Print

A pilot scale production line for high-performance 20Ah vehicle-mounted sulfide all-solid-state batteries was recently completed in a Qingdao-based industry park and began trial operations. Launched by Qingdao Zhongke Yuanben New Energy Co., Ltd., the pilot scale test line is able to produce 10 20Ah batteries per month.

Power batteries for NEVs among other sectors place enormous hope on all-solid-state batteries which excel in energy density, cycle life, multiplying power and safety performance. According to a person who leads R&D in a Qingdao-based project, his team has developed independently many critical materials including high-stability and high-capacity anode materials, and launched an all-solid-state lithium-sodium battery with an energy density of 600Wh/kg, whose capacity can still remain at 84.4% after experiencing 6,200 cycles under ambient temperatures. The Chemical Industry and Engineering of China has judged that the battery can reach the internationally advanced level.

As scheduled, the production line is expected to make 100 Ah battery cells and see its capacity expanded to 2GWh by the end of 2026. A stable partnership between the upper and lower reaches of the industry will be forged, and efforts will be made to accelerate the application of all-solid-state batteries in vehicles.
