Another moral model from Qingdao was recently honored with the title of “Good Samaritan of China”. Yu Yimu, a driver working for Qingdao Zhenqing Bus Group Co., Ltd., has been recognized as a Good Samaritan who is generous in giving help.

The selection of moral models in Qingdao runs a long course. Since its inception in 2004, the annually held “Touching Qingdao” moral model awarding ceremony have taken place for two decades in a row. To keep up with the selection of Good Samaritans of Shandong, Qingdao started the evaluation of civilized citizens on a monthly basis in order to make kind deeds of ordinary people light up the city spiritually. Qingdao has so far singled out a total of more than2,400 moral models of different levels and good Samaritans, comprising 4 China Moral Model winners, 5 finalist winners, 112 Good Samaritans of China, 42 Shandong Provincial Moral Models, 626 Good Samaritans of Shandong, 235 “Touching Qingdao” moral models, and 1,410 civilized citizen winners. Qingdao is increasingly getting reputed as a city of indiscriminate love, where all citizens agree unanimously to become and respect role models.  (Yang Qiqi)
