Since the beginning of August this year, the Qingdao Airport Immigration Inspection Station has been adopting five measures, namely, transit foreigners applying in advance for visa exemption, swift customs registration and clearance integration,online entry declaration by foreign passengers, announcement of forecasts, plans and reminders in peak hours. Among them, the first measure is intended to re-start the procedure to handle provisional entry by foreigners. An area has been set up in the immigration inspection hall to process visa exemption in advance for transit foreign passengers, providing more efficient customs clearance services to foreigners who come to Qingdao or Shandong Province for the purpose of economic and trade ties, or other exchange and cooperation activities. Passengers who are eligible for swift customs clearance can be entitled to immediate declaration and release, and need to spend no longer than 30 minutes from getting off their planes till going through all transit formalities.

Qingdao Airport currently operates up to 23 international and regional passenger routes, providing access to such international cities as Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Moscow, London and Melbourne as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Entries and exits via Qingdao Airport, which recorded more than 2.55 million over the period from January 1 to November 22, is expected to surpass 2.8 million throughout the year.  (Zhou Jianliang)
