According to Qingdao Customs statistics, Qingdao’s imports and exports in the first ten months of this year increased 3% year on year to RMB754.72 bln, representing 27.3% of the gross imports and exports of Shandong province, and comprising RMB434.62 bln of exports and RMB 320.1 bln of imports.
As for main features of Qingdao’s imports and exports in the ten-month period, general trade imports and exports see an increasing share, which amounted to RMB490.01 bln, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%, and accounting for 64.9% of Shandong Province’s total, 0.2 percentage point higher from the same period last year. Processing trade contributed RMB117.35 bln in imports and exports, gaining by 8.3% and representing 15.5%.
The ASEAN, the EU, America, South Korea and Japan are Qingdao’s top five trading markets, whose combined imports and exports accounted for 53.7% of the total. Imports and exports with the EU continued to maintain double-digit growth and represented up to 15.8% of the total. Over the same period, imports and exports with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to RMB378.97 bln, accounting for 50.2%, while the figures with other RCEP signatories and SCO member states were RMB272.91 bln and RMB61.28 bln, respectively.
