The second phase of the refrigerator project in the Haier COSMOPlat Ecological Park was recently put into production. The project is a demonstration green and low-carbon factory with an annual production of 2.5 million mini domestic refrigerators and upright freezers, which mainly target their products at consumers in Europe, Central and East Africa, Southeast Asia, etc. In the COSMOPlat Ecological Park, the top four factories of air conditioning or products began construction at the same time. The first phase of the air conditioner project is expected to boast an annual production of 5 million units, with an annual output value of RMB 5.5 bln. The washing product project comprises three factories of cylinder washing machines, clothes dryers and dish washers, whose combined production can reach 10 million units per year after reaching the design capacity, with an annual output value of RMB 15 bln.

Located in the core zone of the SCODA, the COSMOPlat Ecological Park, whose planning and construction began as early as 2022, is a key project in Shandong Province having an overall goal to become a global innovative lighthouse for industrial internet with global reach and planning to build top ten factories of refrigerating, washing or air conditioning products across the industry chain. The intelligent manufacturing project (first phase) for refrigerators went into operation in December 2023. Following the second phase officially going into operation, the refrigerator project in the COSMOPlat Ecological Park will boast an annual production of 4.2 million units.  (Wang Meng)
