On July 24, Qingdao held the “Gathering Talent in Qingdao, Tour around Qingdao by Chinese Students Studying Abroad” event, aimed at enabling more students studying overseas to have a close contact with Qingdao and stay in Qingdao. More than 20 students studying in 20 world-renowned universities such as University of Pennsylvania, University of California-Los Angeles in the USA, University of Birmingham in the UK and Yonsei University participated in the event.

These students studying overseas visited the state-level Qingdao Human Resources Service Industry Park, a few top-tier new media companies in Qingdao, the Technological Integration and Innovation Exhibition Center in CRRC Qingdao Sifang Rolling Stock Research Co., Ltd., and the command center for the construction of  the start-up zone of the Qingdao International Cruise Port among other places to have a first-hand look at Qingdao’s robust economic growth, and acquainted themselves deeply with workforce policies in Qingdao. They said they would share with their classmates and friends what they have experienced after returning to campus in a bid to attract more talented people studying overseas to develop their careers in Qingdao.

Reportedly, the “Tour around Qingdao by Chinese Students Studying Abroad” event will continue to be held so as to put up a communication and sharing platform for students studying overseas and to show Qingdao’s innovation and entrepreneurial environment.  (Ren Xiaomeng)
