The summer travel rush is around the corner. According to big data on bookings from China’s top online travel platforms, Qingdao is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination, and particularly finds favor with fresh graduates, family trips and chartered tours. Qingdao makes a number of influential ranking lists and shows exceptional to tourists.

 According to data from Qunar, an online travel agency, the number of tourism bookings by high school and college graduates from June 11 to June 30 surged by 90% from the year before. The top 10 destination cities for graduation trips are Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Changsha, Qingdao, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan and Hangzhou. As indicated by data in Tuniu’s 2024 Summer Tourism Trend Projection, Qingdao together with Beijing, Sanya, Guilin, Shanghai, Hulun Buir, Nanjing, Zhangjiajie, Guangzhou and Zhuhai constitute the top 10 domestic destinations for parent-child tours.
